Kat Simmons has been a professional vocalist and percussionist in the Houston area for more than 30 years.  Kat’s dynamic stage presence and soaring vocals contribute to an exciting experience whenever she appears.
Her wide range of experience includes working with such groups as Landslide, Texas BlueWater Band, Chubby Lee and the Western Electric Band, The Works, Expressway, The Renegades Orchestra (big band), the Grateful Geezers, Hidden Agenda, and Soundproof.
Kat has also had several years’ experience playing in two original bands: BuxDelux and her own group, Toughtown.
Other experience includes studio recording, songwriting, advertising production, booking and promotion.

   
 

Dwayne Ulrich - Trumpet and Lead Vocals

Dwayne attended Sam Houston State University and holds a bachelor's degree in music. His professional career, as a musician, has included performances with nationally acclaimed artists and bands. Dwayne is a sought after private instructor of music. Among the many instruments he plays professionally are trumpet, guitar, and bass as well as being a highly competent vocalist.

Bruce is an accomplished musician and has been playing for well over 30 years bring a touch of classical, Jazz and classic rock to his many styles of playing. He is often found playing out, when not performing with Thunder as a solo act for high class restaurants and dinner theaters.

   
 

Buddy Kryer - Guitar

Buddy Kryer - Guitar

Buddy has played music his entire life, except for the time he served his country in the U.S. Navy. Buddy's father encouraged him from a very young age to play music and put a mandolin in his hands at age 7. From then on he has tried playing just about anything with strings but guitar remains his first choice.

   
 

Tony Harrison - Bass Guitar

Tony Harrison - Bass Guitar

Tony left his job as a band director to pursue a career in firefighting and is now a Captain with the Houston Fire Department. His college degree is in music and his passion for the craft has never stopped. Tony directs and fine-tunes many of the Thunder's songs.

   
 

Gustavo Paredes - Trumpet and Flugelhorn

Gustavo Paredes - Trumpet

Gus is an exceptionally talented trumpet player,  graduate of the University of Houston and holds a degree from  University of North Texas State.  He augments thunder's great sounding brass section with the addition of a smooth sounding flugelhorn when the song calls for it.

Keith got his training in music at the University of Houston and plays seven different instruments. He has worked as a music minister in Tomball and teaches all seven of those instruments privately. Keith also writes and arranges music.

Paul is an accomplished trombone player, plays guitar and sings back up vocals. He is the band’s musical historian. He can tell what band played what music and in what year. He is married and works as an accountant in the oil & gas business.

   
 

Denny Hair - Drums & Band Leader

Denny Hair - Drums & Band Leader

Denny is the heart and soul, as well as the principal organizer and band leader of Thunder. He has played and taught drums all his life. Denny is a master drum instructor, endorsed artist for the Ludwig Drum company and has had a long professional playing career. He has performed as a solo act and as many performances with a host of performing artist.  Denny has sub with bands too numerous to mention in his professional career. He is the drummer on call for area musical productions in Houston. Denny gives area drum clinics and teaches drums privately.
